> ℹ️ This article demonstrates how to setup CrossLink 1040 to automatically generate the taxpayer and spouse's PIN on Form 8879.

 

**Follow the instructions below to successfully setup CrossLink 1040 to automatically complete the PIN information:**

1. Log in to CrossLink 1040 with **Admin Rights**.
2. Click **Setup **> **Office Setup**.
3. Select the **Electronic E-Filing **tab.
4. Put a check in the **Generate Taxpayer/Spouse PIN (Auto Generate PINs for Software 2019 and below) **check box.
5. Click **OK**.

> ✅ CrossLink 1040 will now automatically generate the pin for the taxpayer and spouse.
